Port Charlotte

Port Charlotte sits on the edge of Loch Indaal, nested in the gentle peninsula known as the Rhinns and home to some of the best facilities on offer.
The award winning Port Charlotte Hotel has a fine dining restaurant, bar meals, extensive whisky bar and the fires are always lit. The Loch Indaal Public House serves locally sourced seafood and both have regular live traditional music. There is a village shop with food supplies, fuel and post office.
The exciting play park is a short walk away and is adjoined to Port Mhor, where you can stop for coffee or lunch. The Museum of Islay Life is a great way to learn more and has exhibits relating to Islay's History, as well as extensive archives for reference and the Stevenson Port Charlotte lighthouse, built in 1869 sits adjacent to the museum.
The beaches on hand in Port Charlotte are numerous. Whether you want to swim, go pier jumping, fishing, sailing, or simply relax on the sand, there are multiple choices within a few moments walk.
You can access everything Islay has to offer from Port Charlotte. Whether it is a distillery, an award winning beach, riding, golf, watersports, as well as all necessary amenities, they are all close to hand. If you want to stay closer to base, you will have everything you need right on your doorstep.
